Hi all and sorry in advance for this post but I've spent way too much time going around in circles so I'm hoping someone could shed a light on it here for me.
I updated a webapp on Tomcat and I'm getting the following error which didn't exist on the previous version. Though I am quite confident that the part of code I modifed isn't to blame as I have tested the app on two different dev servers.
The production server is configured thus: CentOS 5.4 virtual server with tomcat 5.5.23 running mysql 5.0.77.
The two dev servers are: Windows XP SP2 running tomcat 5.5.23 with mysql 5.1.49
Mac OSX 10.6.6 Running tomcat 6 with mysql 5.1.51
The application was developed using struts (1.1 as far as I can gather) with hibernate 3 as the peristence layer. It only fails on the production server for some reason I can't fathom. I'd like to draw your attention to the java.sql.SQLException near the bottom. After some long searching I found this but because it was posted years ago (about 1 year before development started on this app I'm sure Hibernate has evolved from that version. as I can't find a way of implementing his solution. I use Eclipse Helios as an IDE.
Thanks in advance for taking your time to read this, to all who manage to reply.

The core error message says:
Unknown column 'user0_1_.poloSize' in 'field list'
As you say
It only fails on the production server
could it be possible that the column indicated above is missing from your production DB (while present in the DB(s) used for dev/integration testing)?
Looks like the cause of your problem is here..:
Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Unknown column 'user0_1_.poloSize' in 'field list'
at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.checkErrorPacket(MysqlIO.java:2928)
something is with your HQL. try to add to hibernate.cfg.xml
<property name="show_sql">true</property>
and add SQL dump to post (and HQL)

We've been using SonarQube for a long time, upgraded over many versions and now executed the long awaited LTS upgrade from version 5.6.6 to 6.7. Unfortunately, the database migration failed due to an SQLException "The table 'project_measures' is full".
Are there any guidelines about what do in such a case?
Is it not okay to upgrade directly from version 5.6.6 to 6.7? Should I first upgrade to some other intermediate version? I thought LTS-to-LTS upgrades should work out fine...

SonarQube is installed on a RHEL7 host using MySQL (rh-mysql57-mysql-server). The database location is /var/opt/rh/rh-mysql57/lib/mysql/sonar and there is free disk space available (but maybe not enough?):
/dev/mapper/vg0-var_opt 20G 17G 3.1G 85% /var/opt
Upgrade 5.6.6 to 6.7 is supported. According to your stack trace you are using MySQL server.
Can you have a look at server log files and the free space available on MySQL (maybe there is no enough space on your MySQL server for the migration) ?
I am using mysql 5.7 database and Jboss 4.2.3 application server. I am using managed connection in our application and for JMS messaging we use XA transaction.
Our application support Oracle, MSSql Server and PostgreSQL database as well and we are using these databases with the same Jboss configuration and everything was working properly without any error.
But now we thought to use mysql5.7(latest) database as well with the same Jboss configuration.
Now my problem is :
when we do any transaction(two phase commit) then when transaction gets committed and after that JMS messages start sending, till now it is ok but just after that it throws exception "java.lang.RuntimeException: javax.transaction.HeuristicMixedException".

Because of that we are not able to proceed further.
I am trying to fix it from previous some of the days.Also I researched so many links, websites, blogs but doesn't work for me. I tried everything but not able to fix the problem.
It is something that is causing the problem from the XA Transaction but not able to identify the exact reason why it is ?
I have only replaced the previous database to mysql5.7. With other databases it is working fine.
please help me out to find out the exact cause of this exception and solution as well. Thank you so much in advance
I'm trying to build an application using Play Framework 2.2 and Scala.
I'm not very acquainted to Java environments, so I don't know exactly what's going on.
To make it work with MySql, I should configure my conf/application.conf like this:
db.default.driver=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
db.default.url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/sakila"
db.default.user=root
db.default.password="mypass"
Everything seems right to me, but when I try to access it, I get this:
Cannot connect to database [default]
Why? These information are right! The database can be found at localhost:3306/sakila.
What am I doing wrong?
EDIT: Here is my stacktrace. It seems to be missing the mysql connector .jar file, or something like that. What should I do?

OK, I don't know what's going on.
I put this, and it started to work:
db.default.url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/world"
db.default.driver="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
db.default.user="root"
db.default.pass="mypasswrd"
db.default.host="localhost"
Perhaps it needed a more detailed configuration, i just added the db.default.hostconfiguration, stringified everything with "" (I think this is not necessary, but whatever) and checked if mysql was listed in play dependencies listing. Since it was listed there (in fact it was the first entry), and the error didn't say it was a missing library, I just headed to Error when i try connect play with mysql 5.5 and fixed my configurations.
Thanks to everyone!
You need to have the MySQL JDBC driver jar in your dependencies. This page in the documentation shows how to add the derby driver to the dependencies. Substitute the derby coordinates with the MySQL ones.
I have installed and configured Gerrit on windows using Apache Tomcat and MySql. I followed the instructions found here. However the configurations were sucessful the database was created and it was deployed to tomcat however when i run the application i am getting Code Review Error - 500 Internal Server Error.
I am not sure why this is happening or if this is normal once no projects have been created in Gerrit. Under is a screen shot of the error. The error logs on Apache Tomcat does not have any errors.

It could happen that if you installed gerrit on existing db (or upgrade existing gerrit to new version) you have to refresh the indexes in the database:
java -jar gerrit.war reindex -d /your/gerrit_app_directory
hibernate 3.6.8 final
c3p0 jar that came with hibernate 3.6.8 package -> c3p0-0.9.1.jar

The app seems to be working fine, however I get massive log calls with the following stacktrace:
org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader loadClass
INFO: Illegal access: this web application instance has been stopped already. Could not load com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLNonTransientConnectionException. The eventual following stack trace is caused by an error thrown for debugging purposes as well as to attempt to terminate the thread which caused the illegal access, and has no functional impact.

UPDATE: Is this a critical error? Or can should I just ignore it?
After a search on the web regarding this issue, I found some similar issues reported by several people. All of them point to a common problem: Threads. Basically, if you start new threads in your application (either in your code or by using a third party tool like Quartz, you have to make sure that all of the threads are stopped appropriately when the application is undeployed from the server. Here are some quotes from the searches:
Mikolaj Rydzewski wrote:
It looks like after webapp's instance has been undeployed, background quartz thread wants to do something and then exception occurs.
Another (and better explanation) on jspwiki.org:
It is possible that this is caused by Tomcat unsuccessfully reloading the web application. The app is unloaded, but all threads don't get shut down properly. As a result, when the threads try to run, they get clobbered by the fact that Tomcat has shut down its classloader, and an error is logged.
So, in order to solve this issue you have to make sure all threads started by your application will be stopped at application undeployment (or redeployment, it's the same). You can do this by registering a ServletContextListener to your application server and stopping your threads inside contextDestroyed(ServletContextEvent) method.
If you are using log4j, change your logging settings to something like this (the word ERROR replace INFO) :
log4j.rootLogger=ERROR, file, stdout
log4j.logger.org.hibernate=ERROR
They are located in the the log4j.properties file in yr project.
OK I switched to boneCP, c3p0 does not really seem to work for java6!!!
