SSRS 2005: How do I create a collapsible Text Field in Table? - reporting-services

I have a batch detail report in SSRS 2005, the left most column is an NTEXT SQL field. I need to show the field in the report either as:
1). A collapsible text box so users can view detail in the field by clicking the expansion control OR
2). As a tool tip, so when users hover over the column, they can view the full detail
I can find code to collapse or expand all columns (i.e. the entire row) but not for a single text box in a table.
Any assistance greatly received, thanks!

I don't know how to make a collapsible text box in SSRS, but there is a ToolTip property for text boxes - just select the Text Box, then select the required value for the ToolTip property from the dropdown list of expressions in the Properties window.
The tool tip is only displayed in browsers, not in preview mode in the SQLServer BIDS report designer (as far as I can tell).

Add a page to SSRS report

I want to add a page to SSRS report, which can be toggle on/off based on a radio button selection.
The reason I want to add a page is so I can add additional report logic information for the functional users. Is it possible to add a page (with several text boxes) in SSRS report and show/hide based on parameter value?
NOTE:* One approach I could use is to add a rectangle and control its visibility via parameter. However, when hidden, it leaves a blank space behind. Is there a way to get rid of this blank space?
You can do this with a table component. Add a detail row and a footer row and set the dataset to read from SELECT 1=1. You can put a rectangle in the rows and build out your report in the first row and then optionally show/hide the footer row.

Column Visibility in SSRS

I am using SSRS 2012 for my report. I want to hide certain columns in a report. I don't want to see spaces between columns in my report when a middle column is not visible. I have an expression that hides or make visible a certain column base on the value selected.=IIF(CBool(Parameters!Column.Value)=True,True,False)
But the issue I have with this is that I see spaces between columns in the table when the report is rendered.
In the image below, I want to be able to hide the Code column at the middle of the table without seeing any gap between columns in the table. Thanks for the help.
I'm assuming that you highlighted the Code column and then added the expression to the Hidden property in the Properties Pane?
Try right clicking on the column, selecting Column Visibility, and then entering your expression in the box under the 'Show or hide based on expression' radio button. This should collapse the column and not leave any whitespace when your parameter is set to true.

SSRS hide white space from empty textbox outside of tablix

I'm new to both SSRS and development in general, and can't seem to find the answer to my problem. The report itself is simple-- a stored procedure collects responses and I display them using Lookup expressions in textboxes. Some fields are not required, so some of the textboxes are empty in my report. I would like to remove the white space left by the empty textbox.
In retrospect, I wish I had used a table to format the page, but since I have a very large number textboxes with expressions, I can't easily refactor my work. I found solutions for tablixes (Trying to Get Rid of White Space in SSRS Report), but nothing for free-standing text boxes.
Is this possible?
If you right click on the textbox and navigate to 'Textbox Properties...' you can toggle the visibility of the textbox, and if it is hidden you wont see the white box. You could also enter expressions, like the one below for example will hide the textbox if there is no data in it.
=iif(isnothing(reportitems!Textbox1.Value),false,true)

Find all text boxes in SSRS?

I am trying to implement Expand or Collapse facility to my report in SQLSERVER 2008R2.
For that purpose I have taken a text box named TextBox16.
But when I went to Tablix property and then visibility and then hide and Display can be toggled by this report item. Here I am not able to see all text boxes it showing to me, only odd number text boxes. Then how can I find all text boxes from Tablix property?
How to see all text boxes:
Click on the body of the report.
Hit F4.
Under the properties title is a drop down with every single object in your report. All of your text boxes should be listed in here.

Conditional Visibility of rows in SSRS 2008

I'm very new to SSRS 2008.Here is my problem/question.
I have 15-20 check boxes in the web interface on which the report is based on.I gave ID values to all the check boxes and passing the values of the selected checkboxes into the table so that I can get them on the report side.
On the report side,if a check box is not selected I've to hide that row.For instance if the column name on the table(REPORTCRITERIA) is LOCATIONS and if it has values (1,2,3).This means that checkboxes 1,2 and 3 are selected.how do I query that so that I can accomplish what I want?
Please help.
Thanks,
Praveen.
In Report Designer, left-click the detail row, choose Row Visibility from the context menu, and use an IIF(Condition, True, False) for Hidden, meaning if the Condition holds the row will not be visible.
Example that shows a specific text box ONLY on the very last page of the report:
Visibility / Show Or Hide based on an expression:
=Globals!PageNumber < Globals!TotalPages
The expression HIDES the text box element only when this expression is true, and it will UNHIDE (show the element) when the expression turns FALSE.
Hope this helps,
If not, drop me a line or two.
