Switching Chart types on the fly - actionscript-3

I'm working on a reporting app which displays incoming data as pie by default. We'd like to offer the user the ability to switch to bar, or column, or area, or any of the other charts with the click of a button. Since we already have the data in the app, it should be fairly simple no? Does anyone have an idea of how I might approach this?

You can approach this a couple different ways. If it was me I would either set up a view stack with each of the chart types you want the user to switch to and they you can simply change the viewstack selectedIndex. Alternatively, you can have just a single chart holder container. Then just make function to dynamically generate each chart (Example). Then all you need to do is remove the existing and add the new chart.

I accomplish this by creating a state for each specific chart type. Then just change between states based on user input. You can use one data provider for each chart or create specific data providers for each.

Is it possible to create a telephone directory/provider directory kind of pdf report using SSRS?

I don't see repeater kind of insert-able object where I can create directory kind of report in SSRS. Any input on how to achieve this kind of reporting in SSRS?
Similar to a telephone directory like shown in figure
I've taken this sample data from the Adventure works sample database customer table.
I simply added a table and aded placeholders in the first cell for each of the customer elements I wants to display and formatted them as required.
Then in the report properties, I set the columns to 3.
The design looks like this...
Note that multi column layouts only work with certain renderers such as PDF so if I view it on screen I get this
If I export the report to a PDF I get this.
There are ways to get round doing it on screen to but that's more complicated. Let me know if you need to do this on screen too.

Is it Possible to link the tablix from charts in SSRS

I have a Report which has three tables .Each table is made visible based on the parameters.Now i am planning to add charts to the reports for Visualization.So, is it possible to link the added charts to the specific Table?
I mean when i click on the chart item will that redirect me to the specific table.
Thanks in advance.
You may not get the precision you're looking for, but you can definitely implement this general type of functionality via the use of Bookmarks or Document Maps:

QTableView drag move rows

I'm using a QTableView with a QAbstractTableModel and a QSortFilterProxyModel so that I can sort the items by clicking on the table headers. I'd like to add the option for the user to sort the rows in the view manually, by dragging them. I don't need to be able to do drag and drop from/to any external application, just to change the order in the list. I also don't need to change the data in the model, I only want the order to be different in the view.
I've been looking through the documentation, and it seems like I have to implement mimeTypes, mimeData, and dropMimeData, but this gets very complicated fast! Some of the data in my model is not actually displayed in the view, and like I said I don't want to change the order of data in the model. Is there a way to simply drag items to change their sorting (just like the headers are already able to do) without a huge amount of coding?
Updated for QT5 to remove deprecated methods
If you are using PyQT All you need to do for your requirements is this:
your_tableview.verticalHeader().setSectionsMovable(True)
your_tableview.verticalHeader().setDragEnabled(True)
your_tableview.verticalHeader().setDragDropMode(QAbstractItemView.InternalMove)
Then rinse and repeat with horizontalHeader if you want those rearrange-able too.
You are absolutely right, you shouldn't need to touch or even know what the model is for this functionality. This is further demonstrated by your proper use of the QSortFilterProxyModel decorator over the model itself.
The stuff you saw about mimeTypes and all of that stuff is for drag-and-drop of actual objects of varying sources from other windows/applications/desktop/etc and isn't needed for what you are trying to accomplish currently.

Dojo/HTML equivalent for list box control

We are porting our MFC based client to Dojo. Is there any widget similar to listbox control. At present I am using DataGrid, but that seems heavy and overkill for our purposes. Alternatively what is best widget to replace listbox.
Update: I have already looked at dijit.form.multiselect, and I dont think that meets my requirement. MFC Listbox typically looks like this. I dont see (or rather dont know) how to replicate this with multiselect. It is possible that DataGrid is best fit for the control.
If you use dojo 1.7, take a look at the new DGrid.
For an example looking like yours, go to the tests page and pickup the Selector.html example.
Here are some options depending on which part of the ListBox you want to create:
dijit.Dialog to create a basic dialog box.
dijit.form.FilteringSelect to create a drop-down with your options (single select only).
You could also use radio buttons or checkboxes for your options depending on whether multiple selections are allowed.

Re-naming chart legend in Access 2007

In an auto-generated chart based on a query (I dragged the chart object onto a blank form to start it), the chart itself is displaying and updating properly, datawise, but I want to change the Legend from reading "SumOfAvgOfield1" and "SumOfAvgOfield2" to regular words suitable for final presentations. But I can't find a way to change it!
I realize this is a late answer, but I was just having a similar issue and figured someone else might benefit from knowing how to get rid of the 'SumOf' labels.
In design view, right click on the chart and select 'Properties'.
Choose the Data tab.
The 'Row Source' field is the one you're going to be interested.
In there you can see various places where it's labeling your data:
Sum() AS [SumOfData]
Just edit the text right in the properties window and you'll be set.
This is WAY late, but here's what I found (Yes we still use office 2007)
Open the form in PivotTable View. Open Property Sheet. Highlight the column you want to change the Legend Caption for. Choose the Captions Tab in the properties window. There you can change the captions for each column.
Had 4 charts on a form. 3 would let me edit the Heading of the Chart, the 4th would not. Read a lot of posts that did not pertain. Noticed the datasheet for the 4th chart was completely empty.
SOLUTION: Clicked on chart until the datasheet appeared. Added mock field headings and mock data to datasheet. I could then click on chart and edit the chart's Heading. You can also highlight and change the color of selected words in the chart's Heading. Very Nice!
Good luck,
Vancer
The SumofAverageOfFiled1, etc is automatically generated. Even if you edit it in the datasheet, it changes back (or at least that is my experience). What I did to get around this is add a Rectangle and fill it with white and size it to cover up the "Sumof" captions. You can Bring to Front the Rectangle. Then you can add text boxes to label the chart's bars to read the way you want them. Drag them over the Rectange and Bring to Front.
Hope this helps.
Everywhere I looked it said just change the Pivot Table to change the Legend Entry.
Well, let me tell you.
First, if you have no Pivot Table that you can see do the following:
go to design view and select the form
right click and hit Properties. Scroll through till you see AllowPivotTableView and select yes.
Now you can go and change the column headers!
This could help
Select xxxxx, yyyyy from zzzz
Chart0.ChartSeriesCollection(0).DisplayName = ![XXXXX]
Chart0.ChartSeriesCollection(1).DisplayName = ![YYYYY]
Was very difficult to me to find a way to do it.
