Maximize window in MacVim on startup - macvim

How can I set MacVim to start up with a window that extends the full height (minus menu bar) and width of my monitor (not fullview)?
If this impossible on startup, how can I change it manually (not by dragging the window, but with a command)?

You can set the lines and columns options. Just use “very large” values and Vim will truncate them to the largest possible values for your screen and font sizes. If you put this in your ~/.gvimrc, then your initial window will automatically be sized accordingly.
set lines=999 columns=9999
See :help 'lines' and :help 'columns' for the details.
MacVim also has the fullscreen and fuoptions options (along with the “Prefer native full-screen support” checkbox in the Advanced section of the MacVim > Preferences… dialog) that you might find useful.

Text resolution and Font size issue in MySQL workbench 8.0 on windows 10

Texts resolution and Font size is quite low which is putting a lot of strain on my eyes.
I have tried using Edit->Preferences->fonts and colors and then changing the font sizes but its not working not even on restart.
I have also tried correcting the resolution by changing the High DPI Setting and then overriding the scaling performed by Application. In this case the resolution is increased but font becomes even smaller.
Can anyone tell me how to figure out this?
I was facing the same problem of blurried fonts and textures after installing MySQL Workbench 8.0 on my new Windows 10 machine. The following steps worked for me:
step 1: Fix blurried textures. Go to the MySQL Workbench installation folder (Windows start menu, type in "Workbench" and right click on the icon and select open file location). After that, right click "MySQL Workbench 8.0 CE" and select properties, switch to tab Compatibilityand click the button Change high DPI settings. In the lower part of this window, under High DPI scaling behaviourcheck the box (i.e. "override high DPI scaling behaviour") and select the scaling being performed by Application. Click OK to close the window and click on Apply and OK to save the settings and close the window. (screenshot: Properties Window of MySQL Workbench: overriding high DPI scaling by Application)
step 2: increase text size. In MySQL Workbench, click on Edit and Preferences. In the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the preferences window, click on 'Appearance' (located under the group 'Modeling'). On the right-hand side, the lower section lists the fonts (and sizes) of the respective objects. In order to change the font type and/or size, click on an element within the column "Font" and click it again (do not double click!). By default, the following two font type/size defintions are set: Tahoma 11 and Tahoma Bold 12. (screenshot: Workbench Preferences-window)
optional: zoom in. If you still feel unconfortable with the displayed text size, you can - at least in terms ERD models (and maybe some other aspects) - zoom in. Unfortunately, this is not implemented via clicking and holding CTRL and mouse wheel scrolling. Instead you can either use CTRL + + (or - for zooming out) or you can use the magnifier-icons in the "Bird's Eye" pane (usually upper left pane).

Visual Studio SSRS editor zoom option

I am new to SSRS. I am try to edit an existing report in VS2013. I'd like to be able to zoom in on a given area so that I can have fine control over dragging a column. I cannot find a zoom option.
Alternatively, if there is no zoom option, is there a way to set a column width in a tablix?
Ctrl + "+" will zoom in on the workspace. Alternatively, in the "Report" toolbar just underneath the menu bar (if it's not already visible, go to View->Toolbars->Report) you can change the zoom percentage.
To set the column width manually, select a single cell within the column- not the entire column- and go to the Properties window (or press F4.) You can set the width under the "Size" property.
Also, you can hold Ctrl while resizing with a mouse for finer control that ignores auto-snapping.

MonoDevelop can't resize main window

can anybody explain to me why is that MonoDevelop main window does not resize to bellow a lower width and height? Is this normal? Is it a bug?
PS: On mac, version 4.0.1
I - n00b with anger - had problems resizing the Main Window at all.
Here is how I managed to do so:
rightclick on mainwindow in designer-> Mainwindow -> Select
In the Properties Window:
Window Size Properties -> check "Resizable"
(even if it seems checked, check it again!)
Now I can resize the Windows as big or small as I want.
//Edit: I would also like to point out, that for most widgets there is a "Common widget Properties" region in the properties View. Have a look at "RequestWidth" and "RequestHeight" if youre used to .Net and looking for a way to resize Widget Controls.

Window not seen in Windows after "overrideredirect=true"

I would like to have GUI window without window decoration (title bar, borders, etc...).
I use wm overrideredirect set to true, but then window manager doesn't see my application and it is not shown on taskbar or under alt+tab switch in Windows7.
Is it possible to have window without decorations but seen as normal application in window manager?
Unfortunately, you can't. Setting the overrideredirect flag basically puts the window outside the control of the system window manager — it's how things like menus and tooltips actually work under the covers — and it is system policy that known windows have decorations.
There are a few slight exceptions that you might be able to enable in some circumstances with wm attributes:
You can run in full-screen mode with wm attributes $w -fullscreen 1
You can tinker with wm attibutes $w -type to find something that has the effect you want, but only on Unix (it's a platform-specific feature).
I suspect neither applies to you.

change font size of Chrome bookmarks panel

bookmarks bar doesn't zoom in with page zooming or minimal font setting in chrome.
So is there a way to increase font size for bookmarks bar?
In XP you can change font size of bookmarks and tabs of the chrome by changing the Message Box value in display properties menu;
Control Panel -> Display -> Appearance -> Advanced -> Item -> Message Box
There might be a way to change the chrome bookmark bar font size using the "chrome browser settings", but I'm not entirely sure. Alternatively, use the "OS settings". These settings are usually found in categories named: visual, appearance, theme, font size, etc... and can
be adjusted on either a specific or global scale.
OS (Windows 10)
Start > Settings > Make text size bigger
Start > Settings > Change the size of text, apps, and other items > Scale and layout
Start > Settings > Make everything bigger > Make everything bigger
On Google Chrome click on 3 dots on upper right hand corner and scroll down to settings. Settings>Advanced>Accessibility>Manage Accessibility Features>Display>Open Display Settings>Display Size>(Move bar towards middle of Tiny and Huge or to your liking)
For windows 11...
select windows start button
type font in search bar
choose "make text size bigger"
Use scale to increase text size according to your preference, select apply
THENNNN, use the magnifier (upper right icon in url bar or use CTRL and -) to reduce the size of your screen from 100%
Not ideal fix, but a temporary solution that worked for me!
Its so easy dear. Just type the following in your chrome browser:
chrome://flags
Now scroll down untill you find the option "HiDPI Support Windows".
Once you found the option change it from Default to Engable and then click on relunch now. You are done your from now your bookmark toolbar icons will be big.
Click on bookmarks.
On top of the bookmark list, click Bookmark Manager.
Then simply use the Ctrl and + or _ to increase or decrease font size.
Alternately, press Ctrl and roll the mouse wheel.
