Gitlab runner throw ERROR: Preparation failed: Getwd: getwd: no such file or directory?
gitlab version is: GitLab Community Edition 8.6.4
gitlab-runner version: 1.11.5
My CI throw ERROR: Preparation failed: Getwd: getwd frequently,
but sometimes we commit is work fine. So we didn't know what the final reason cause this problem.
We only know about one thing that is this error shows after we moved the build directory.
In my case that was because of residual gitlab-runner processes still executing. I resolved it by identifying guilty pids then killed them:
$ ps -ax | grep gitlab-runner
27034 ? Ssl 0:06 /usr/bin/gitlab-runner run --working-directory /home/gitlab-runner --config /etc/gitlab-runner/config.toml --service gitlab-runner --syslog --user gitlab-runner
$ sudo kill -9 27034
I got the same error and solved by restarting gitlab-runner
gitlab-runner restart
The Gitlab Runner checks out a copy of your repository into CI_PROJECT_DIR. You can check its value by adding the following to your .gitlab-ci.yml:
script:
- echo $CI_PROJECT_DIR
I received the "getwd: no such file or directory" error because:
I had changed my working directory to /var/www/mysite (I am using a docker container with gitlab-runner installed inside it, but I think that's beside the point)
one of my deploy script lines moves /var/www/mysite to /var/www/old-mysite.
I'm used to the Gitlab Runner checking out its build inside /home/gitlab-runner/build. When I changed the docker working directory this caused the runner to check it out at /var/www/mysite/build.
After my script moved /var/www/mysite to /var/www/old-mysite, on second and subsequent runs, gitlab runner still expected to find (/var/www/mysite) but it no longer existed, hence the error.
Given the above, I can't explain why the runner works the first time ever, when that directory also doesn't exist, but hopefully my answer might at least prompt something useful for someone! :)

install_driver(mysql) failed: Can't locate DBD/mysql.pm

Question is not repeated, first read the problem which I am facing, then mark it if it is repeated, will be helpful if repeatation of my question helps me in solving my problem, As I have been through all the links and solutions mentioned on other similar questions and problems but no luck.
I am trying to setup redmine git on my ec2-aws-instance with help of below link

sudo apt-get install libdbd-mysql-perl

Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS \n \l
In order for a Perl installation to talk to a MySQL database, it needs to use the DBD::mysql module. This module isn't part of the standard Perl installation and needs to be installed separately. When you install it using the CPAN command line tool (cpan DBD::mysql) or using apt-get (apt-get install libdbd-mysql-perl) it is installed in the library directories used by the system Perl (the one that is installed as part of your operating system). You can confirm that this has been installed correctly by running the following commands:
$ perldoc DBD::mysql
$ perl -MDBD::mysql -le'print $DBD::mysql::VERSION'
If DBD::mysql is installed correctly, the first command will show you the documentation for the module and the second will give the version number.
But, as I said, this is installed for use by the system Perl installation. It appears from the error message you're seeing that your Bitnami installation isn't using the system Perl. It is, instead, using a separate Perl installation which is installed in /opt/bitnami.
So you need to get DBD::mysql installed in the module library for this Perl installation. It's possible to ask cpan to install a module in a different directory, but I'd be wary about just installing stuff into Bitnami's directory tree. I strongly suspect that an installation step has been skipped far earlier in the process. If Bitnami needs to use MySQL from a Perl program and installs its own Perl distribution complete with its own module library, then it should either include DBD::mysql in its installation or provide clear instructions on how to install it.
My suggestion would be to carefully go over the installation instructions for Bitnami and see what they have to say about installing MySQL support. If that doesn't work, you should take this question to Bitnami's support channels.

Configure ejabberd with Mysql , Error p1_mysql.app not found

I am trying to configure ejabberd with mysql database. After changes into the yml file i got this error while starting node.
2017-01-09 13:07:27.386 [critical] <0.38.0>#ejabberd:exit_or_halt:133 failed to start application 'p1_mysql': {error,
{"no such file or directory",
"p1_mysql.app"}}
Searching for solutions encountered with a step to hit './configure'
But i cannot locate the directory.
Tried it in /var/lib/ejabberd as well. says "not found"
Installed on Ubuntu using apt-get install ejabberd
How do i hit configure to do the needful.
If you're building from source, you should enable mysql support via configure script, e.g.
$ ./autogen.sh # Only needed if building directly from github repo
$ ./configure --enable-mysql
$ make

'File already exists in database: caffe.proto' on make runtest

When I tried to install the latest caffe on my MacbookPro (El Capitan), I got following errors. What's wrong? How to fix it?
I found a few similar issues on this site, unfortunately shown fix seems ubuntu specific.
Thank you in advance.
bash-3.2$ make runtest
make runtest
.build_release/tools/caffe
[libprotobuf ERROR google/protobuf/descriptor_database.cc:57] File already exists in database: caffe.proto

libc++abi.dylib: terminating with uncaught exception of type google::protobuf::FatalException: CHECK failed: generated_database_- >Add(encoded_file_descriptor, size):
make: *** [runtest] Abort trap: 6
bash-3.2$
I faced a similar error. In my case, switching from Protobuf 2.6.1 to the latest Protobuf Version (i.e. 3.4.1) resolved the problem. Good luck!
This is typically an issue with libprotobuf. You need to re-install protobuf debian and then rebuild caffe as shown below:
Uninstall the existing protobuf:
sudo apt-get remove libprotobuf-dev protobuf-compiler
sudo apt-get remove libprotobuf-lite8 libprotoc8
sudo apt-get remove python-protobuf
Re-install protobuf. Follow all the steps given at steps to install protobuf (2.6.1) debian.
Rebuild caffe

Error using YUM and DNF in Fedora 21

I read this article in fedoramagzine.org and followed the process. Since then I am unable to perform updates, installation etc from both yum and dnf.
This is the error I get from DNF
Abhinav#localhost ~$ sudo dnf update
[sudo] password for Abhinav:
Error: Failed to synchronize cache for repo 'fedora' from
'https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-21&arch=x86_64':

for
https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-21&arch=x86_64
[Connection timed out after 120002 milliseconds]
and this is the error I get when using YUM
Abhinav#localhost ~$ sudo yum update Loaded plugins: langpacks
One of the configured repositories failed (Fedora 21 - x86_64), and
yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue. At this point the
only safe thing yum can do is fail. There are a few ways to work
"fix" this:
1. Contact the upstream for the repository and get them to fix the problem.
2. Reconfigure the baseurl/etc. for the repository, to point to a working
upstream. This is most often useful if you are using a newer
distribution release than is supported by the repository (and the
packages for the previous distribution release still work).
3. Disable the repository, so yum won't use it by default. Yum will then
just ignore the repository until you permanently enable it again or use
--enablerepo for temporary usage:
yum-config-manager --disable fedora
4. Configure the failing repository to be skipped, if it is unavailable.
Note that yum will try to contact the repo. when it runs most commands,
so will have to try and fail each time (and thus. yum will be be much
slower). If it is a very temporary problem though, this is often a nice
compromise:
yum-config-manager --save --setopt=fedora.skip_if_unavailable=true
Cannot retrieve metalink for repository: fedora/21/x86_64. Please
verify its path and try again
I even emptied all the repos in /etc/yum.repos.d except for the original 3 repos you get when you install distro.

UPDATE 2
Formatted my laptop and re-installed Fedora 21. After 3 sudo dnf updates. I am stuck with this problem again. This time i didn't follow the steps on the previous article.
On further google search I found https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/4517 which talks about same error. It is closed but I can't find a proper solution again.
If you sit behind a proxy, you have to configure dnf accordingly. (Even if the user's proxy settings are fine, you have to set them for dnf anyway.) The dnf settings are stored in /etc/dnf/dnf.conf. The syntax is:
proxy=<protocol>://<ip or name>:<port>
If this is not your problem, try to download the metadata with the browser to ensure, that your network connection to the url is working.
The file to receive should be an xml file. If you cannot download the metadata via the browser, chances are, that either port 443 (for https) is blocked or there is something wrong with your internet connection.
